🏔challenge: “I like the idea of batch creating, but when I sit down to actually do it my mind gets so sidetracked so easily. Any suggestions?”—mission minded creative
✨opportunity: Batch creation is queen! Batch creation is a branch of “deep work” – a time when you can get in the flow. Here are our power tips >>
- Reflect on your “when.” Depending on the task, you may be most productive first thing in the morning or late afternoon. For me, I prefer my “tasks” in the am and more “creativity” in the pm. Find what works for you! And put it on the cal.
- Eliminate distractions. Easier said than done. This means digital distractions (turn off your phone!) and physical ones (let ppl know you’re working!). A hint is to have a separate “workspace” on your computer clear of clutter (and with no email!).
- Start in silence. This may seem counterintuitive. But try putting on some music and sitting in silence for 2 minutes. This will allow you to set your intentions and calm your mind.
Our brains context switch a million times a day. We have to work on building our focus muscles — it won’t come naturally.
