🏔challenge: “I feel overwhelmed with my workload but still don’t feel like I’m making enough to support another person’s salary. How long should I wait to hire? Is there a right/wrong time to add people to your team?” — values-led entrepreneur
✨opportunity: Overwhelm is overwhelming … and it’s also a blessing and opportunity to reflect. While you feel like you *can* do everything, sometimes we feel stuck. That’s okay. Here are our tips >>
- Track your work. Tracking time can illuminate where there are gaps with your work. You have to start with where you are!
- Reflect on your time. Maybe writing blogs is something that should take a couple of hours, but you spend too much time spinning your wheels, so it takes double that time. When you’re working in your “zone of genius” you are doing the things at the intersection of your expertise and your joy.
- Plan for the future. I can’t tell you whether hiring someone is right or not for you … you need to decide that for yourself! Find a way to offload those tasks that don’t bring you as much joy. Whether that’s eliminating them for yourself, or investing in a specialist to take care of it for you.
The opposite of overwhelm is freedom. Freedom is beautiful. Use overwhelm to motivate you to make the changes you need for your life — work, personal, business, and all.
